My Weekend In Pictures (and words)

Monday thru Thursday

Attended the Island Auditions for the 'This is Lagos' TV series, which held at REHAB Night club in Victoria Island...

There is sooo much Talent in this town...made it all the more difficult deciding who to select and who to tell the dreaded "we'll be in touch" or "Thanks for coming"!!

Kai..in this Industry, you can't afford not to have a thick skin!! Just thinking of how many rejections I have experienced after building so much expectations toward the opportunity, is giving me a headache right now!!

Got my work boots on Thursday evening and headed down to the New Afrika Shrine for FELABRATION!!

Havn't been to the Shrine in about 7years!! I had a BLAST!! ('Live from Felabration' coming soon)

Friday

Mystery: Who has this mysterious stash underneath their bed?!

The Bestie and I had a much-needed BEING session, courtesy Hotel Bon Voyage...it's a time where we basically just CHILL!! Shout-out to Bon Voyage for taking excellent care of us...

Seafood Islander

Surf n Turf

Lunch was an orgasmic experience!! Mr. Vincent, the Chef at Bon Voyage is a master of his art!!

What's happening in this sculpture?

After Lunch, we relaxed and enjoyed each other's company...

Amazing Twilight view from Bon Voyage...

Later dashed home to get ready for my girl, Damilola Olaiya's birthday dinner at Jades' Palace...

Dami cutting her cake..

Dami, Yewande & Moji Awoniyi

Ochuko

Much later, my Egbon and I delightfully stumbled upon a performance by Dede Mabiaku, marking the birthday of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti...

Saturday

Went to Terra Kulture for a special (and belated) Nigeria @ 50 Music & Poetry Recital!!

I was in awe of the diversity and richness of all our indigenous music, dance and poetry from the different parts of Nigeria!!

Terfa Aondoo from Gboko

Terfa Aondoo was one of the original members of the Nigerian National Troupe first put together by Herbert Ogunde!!

Later went to capture a beautiful Lagos Sunset from one of my new Secret Places...

Lagos is indeed a truly beautiful city!! She is a victim of abuse, and is often misunderstood, yet she willingly shares her beauty with anyone who is willing to look beyond her obvious flaws!!

Oh yeah...and I know because she told me!!

Sunday

Couldn't help admiring one of Mr. Vincent's culinary pieces during the Sunday Brunch at Hotel Bon Voyage...

Pineapple Turnover

Opening soon in Lagos...
